General Questions
Young Laureates is a GAC-accredited learning center in McDonough, GA serving scholars in Grades K through 9. We offer a full academic program as well as enrichment-only options for home education families. Our model is built around small-group instruction, culturally affirming curriculum, hands-on learning, and a tight-knit community.
Yes. Young Laureates is fully accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC). Our accreditation means our curriculum, facilities, and academic standards have been independently verified to meet Georgia's highest educational benchmarks.
Young Laureates was founded with Black scholars in mind and our curriculum, culture, and community are deeply rooted in Black identity, history, and excellence. We are a non-discriminatory learning center and welcome all families who are aligned with our mission and values. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or age.
We are located at 809 Pavilion Ct, McDonough, GA 30253 in Henry County. We serve families from across the greater Henry County area and surrounding communities.
The 5-Day Scholar Village serves Grades 2 through 9. The K-2 Foundations program serves Kindergarten through Grade 2 on Monday and Wednesdays. Enrichment programs are open to scholars across all grade levels K–9.
We maintain a low scholar-to-guide ratio to ensure every child is known and supported. Our small group model means guides can build real relationships with scholars and tailor instruction to each individual.
Academics and Curriculum
Our curriculums go beyond just the standards. Core academics include ELA, mathematics, science, social studies, and logic and reasoning. We use a combination of proven instructional materials — including The Art of Argument for critical thinking and rhetoric, and resources like YourAfricanHistory.com and Oh Freedom! for history — alongside scholar-specific learning plans built around each child's goals, interests, and strengths.
We teach history as history — not a sanitized version of it. Scholars learn Black American history through the eyes of Black America. We want our scholars to know the full story of who they are and where they come from. By middle grades, scholars engage in Socratic-style discussion, journaling, and research-level writing rooted in primary sources and culturally affirming texts.
The Art of Argument is a formal logic and rhetoric program that teaches scholars to think clearly, question rigorously, and reason through dialogue rather than memorization. Scholars learn to construct arguments, identify fallacies, and engage in meaningful debate. By grades 6 and up, this foundation supports Socratic seminars and research-level writing.
Learning plans are built around each scholar's goals, interests, and strengths — not just test scores. They evolve throughout the year as scholars grow. When a scholar joins Young Laureates they complete an ELA diagnostic to help us understand their starting point, and guides use that information alongside ongoing observation to shape instruction.
Yes. As a GAC-accredited learning center, Young Laureates keeps academic records and progress reports. Families receive regular updates on their scholar's progress throughout each session. Contact us at info@younglaureates.org for more details.
Enrollment and Admissions
Applications are submitted online through our Apply page. A non-refundable $50 application fee is due at submission. After review, qualifying families are invited to a family meeting followed by a scholar ELA diagnostic. Enrollment offers are made on a rolling basis.
Yes. Families may enroll in our enrichment programs — Monday entrepreneurship and life skills, Friday STEAM, or both — without joining the full 5-Day program. Young Laureates is designed to work alongside your home education plan.
The ELA diagnostic is a brief reading and writing assessment completed before enrollment. It is not a pass or fail test — it helps us understand where your scholar is so we can build the right learning plan from day one.
The 5-Day Scholar Village has seats available for 2026-27. Monday + Friday Enrichment and Friday STEAM Only are currently waitlisted. K-2 Foundations availability — contact us directly. Availability is updated regularly on our Admissions page.

Enrichment and Programs
Mondays are our entrepreneurship and life skills day. Scholars engage in project-based learning rooted in real-world thinking — finance, entrepreneurship, and the kind of practical knowledge that goes beyond textbooks. It's one of our most popular days.
Fridays are our STEAM enrichment day. Scholars engage in hands-on science labs, coding, design, robotics, and physical education. Friday is a full, active enrichment day that scholars look forward to each week.
C.I.R.C.U.I.T is Young Laureates' competitive robotics team. Scholars who participate in the Enrichment Center are eligible to join the team and compete in FIRST LEGO League (FLL) regional competitions. Team members build and program autonomous robots, develop an innovation project, and present to judges. Team selection takes place each fall. Team number: 66290.
Yes. Enrichment enrollment is available to home education families and scholars who are not enrolled in the 5-Day program. You may enroll for Monday only, Friday only, or both. Each option has its own tuition rate. Check current availability on our Admissions page.
